Typhoon Lagoon
Company: Walt Disney Company
Concept drawings of Typhoon Lagoon, merchandise and snack shacks. The first concept drawing is of a merchandise shack, incorporating washed-up shipwrecked parts, creatively tells the story where Amelia Earhart’s plane landed. The second concept drawing is of a F&B stand. This whimsical stand was inspired by the big kahuna surfers, using their surfboards and washed up items from the typhoon.
Tiki Bird Show Concept Art

Two whimsical concept ideas for the Disneyland Tiki Bird Show, the Jungle Book meets the Tiki Bird Show and developing the Tiki Bird Show into a Jazz club.
These were wonderfully fun, hand drawn concepts, that I had the pleasure of creating. The first concept was combining the Tiki Bird cast with the Jungle Book characters. King Louie comes down from the bird mobile singing…. I Want To Be Like You! The concept drawing of Baloo the Bear in costume wearing a grass skirt and animated fruit head piece, was inspired by Carmen Miranda singing…The Bear Necessities of Life!
The last concept drawing of an animated toucan, was to be a new guest performer in a swinging Tiki Bird jazz club.

Nickelodeon indoor theme park concept art. Art Directed and designed 25 rides, shows ,merchandise and food facilities. Art was created in sketch up for layout and illustrated in photoshop.
Disneyland Adventure Land Concept Art

This gouache and water color painting depicting a never used concept of a Dinosaur themed land was designed to replace Adventure Land.
In the land is a rollercoaster that rides through an erupting volcano where dinosaurs live throughout the land. The land was designed to include F&B, merchandise and interactive shows.
PORTA EUROPA JAPAN

Original pencil drawing on tissue paper of a Birdseye drawing of Porta Europa Theme Park. This five acre theme park was the first universal theme park in Japan. I was the area development Art Director and created the four mascots for the park. This park included a 3D environment, an underwater simulator and a flume ride.
Studio Tour Dubai

Created digitally painted concept boards for a theme park in Dubai where I art directed the Sinbad live action stunt show. Pictured in the first image is F&B and merchandise stores leading up to stunt shows main gate. The second concept design is the climax where Sinbad is battling a huge sea monster. The third illustration is of a studio special effects show depicting our hero taking out space villains and launching his rocket.

Lottie Theme Park Concept Art

Lottie theme park’s world underwater land, where I was responsible for all new walk around character designs and overall look and feel of the theming of the underwater themed land. The designs include a little mermaid, which is one of four characters in the theme park. The digital painting is inspiration for the themed land representing environmental themed lighting. The last image is a whimsical submarine that was developed as a children’s crawl and play area.
Interactive kids play wall

Designed an interactive walls for a preschool kids. The clouds are projection maped on the wall to float past and the day turns into night. The little town interacts when touched. The light turn on, you hear the waterfall, the water wheel turns and you hear noise behind each door.
Winnie the Pooh Dark Ride

Stroyboard panel for show rdie concept. I created this original pencil drawing as a concept for the Winnie the Pooh Dark Ride attraction, which was done for Walt Disney Imagineering for the Disney Theme Parks. This panel is a transition scene where Pooh bear fell asleep guarding his honey as we ride our pooh pot into the nightmare scene of Heffalump and Woozles.
Doctor Who Story Board

As Art Director and Concept Designer for the project I created this concept art for the Doctor Who traveling show developed for BBC. These drawings are of an interactive warehouse full of Doctor Who’s artifacts that he’s collected during adventures. The concept is that you take the good Doctor’s sonic screw driver and point at the items to activate them.

This never-used storyboard art was for a Rodger Rabbit simulator ride. This wacky ride concept was to board an interactive toon bus and follow Bennie the cab through Toon Town and save Jessic Rabbit with Rodger Rabbits help. What could go wrong?

I was one of two art directors working on Jurassic Park the ride in Universal Studios Hollywood. As art director I was responsible for show set design and dinosaur character development. Storyboard concept drawing for a Jungle Book stage show. The concept was to put the Jungle Book characters in the carousal of progress building at Disneyland.
Monster Bar

This never used concept art of a wacky monster themed bar was created to be highly interactive. When you purchase a themed drink, it activates a particular device within the bar creating interactive experience. Another fun fact is that a shrunken head (via remote control) comes to your table and takes your order.
Nick Theme Park

As Art Director and Concept Designer for Nickelodeon I designed this concept art for Dora the Explorer themed land and show ride.
The first concept is an original pencil drawing of a POV of Dora and Diego’s land. This land illustrates Dora’s train ride, boots interactive jeep attraction and Dora’s water ride.
The second color comp drawing is a detailed drawing of Dora’s train ride with leap frog fountains shooting over the train as it passes.
Nickelodeon Theme Park

Never-used theme park stage show and kiosk concept work for Nickelodeon Theme Park. I art directed and developed concepts for this Nickelodeon stage show, which shows icons with monitors inserted, used as backdrops for the stage. The screens were used to enhance live action show and played your favorite Nickelodeon cartoons during intermission and between shows for continuous entertainment. The second drawing is of an interactive kiosk. It’s concept was to be used as a directory for the park and to educate the guest of the Nickelodeon characters.

The double decker SpongBob carousal was whimsically inspired by SpongBob’s pet snail Gary and wild seahorse. On this double deck carousal guests have the choice of riding on Gary or select the wild seahorse.
Danny Phantom dark ride. Ride a Phantom vehicle through the ghost portal and shoot ghosts as they try to board your vehicle to find a way out of the portal.

Never-used concept art for the entrance of Shredder theme roller coaster ride Nickelodeon Theme Park.
As the Art Director and Concept Designer for this project I was inspired by Shredder’s sharp claws and unique helmet and implemented them as elements for the design entrance.
Show Quality Standards, Disneyland

Show Quality Standards Art Director at Disneyland working for WDI .Responsible for restaurant upgrades, attraction refurbishment and merchandise facilities.
SQS team during the rehab of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. We are standing in front of the pirate ship in the battle scene. During this rehab, we replaced the ceiling tiles, remastered the music, added new animation, replaced and added burning timbers and refreshed all scenes.
Bengal Barque during construction, this facility replaced Sunkist. I designed and art directed this up grade. The story behind this facility is: Traders found this burnt out tree, struck by lighting and turned it into a barque. Using their crates and other boat supplies to build this walk up food facility around this burning tree.
Jungle cruse up grades pictures backstage. Had a great time art directing and playing with the animals, lucky for me none of them bite.
